During a fierce blizzard, his house, set deep in the woods of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, becomes a haven for refugees from the storm. When his pregnant physical therapist’s car won’t start, her two lovers, a carpenter and a petty thief, come for her—and after each other.
Along the way, one of them discovers a car wreck and an injured woman wandering in the snowbound forest. Del Maki provides them all shelter through the night, but as the blizzard becomes increasingly threatening they are forced to abandon the house, and their flight at dawn leads to a bad deal with a deadly result.
